PASCO announces the MatchGraph for the iPhone at the International Society for Technology in Education conference.
MatchGraph is an engaging and fun way for children and adults alike to develop their understanding of math and science concepts.
The object of the game is to rotate the phone to produce a graph that matches a target graph on the screen as closely as possible. The score is based on how closely the user’s movements match the target graph. Each deviation lowers the starting score of 100. Users have up to 10 seconds to complete a challenge before the game stops.
The game offers four different challenges, each one more difficult than the other. The user simply selects a target graph from one of the four options at the bottom of the screen and presses the start button to begin graphing the device’s rotational motion. MatchGraph takes advantage of the iPhone 4’s built-in gyroscope for six-axis motion sensing.
Fun and games aside, MatchGraph also has an educational benefit. Users learn how to analyze and interpret graphs and develop a deeper understanding of the relationship between rotational position and time, improving their scores in the process.
MatchGraph requires the iPhone 4 and iOS 4. It can be downloaded at the App StoreSM.
